Bunny Team

Who doesn’t love a sweet bunny?

Storybook Farm needs dependable, adult volunteers (age 18 + ) to help care for our 19 bunnies (currently).

Before requesting training we would love if you can commit to helping at least twice a month on a regular day and time. This really helps with our bunny care plan.

We have Bunny Barn shifts each day, in the morning and afternoon. Morning care is typically completed by 10 a.m. or earlier, and afternoon care can begin anytime between 4:00–6:00 p.m. Each shift requires at least a 1-hour commitment, though most volunteers enjoy staying longer.

Volunteer duties include feeding bunnies, checking and refilling water containers, filling hay, changing litter boxes as needed, sweeping, vacuuming, spot-cleaning bunny areas, taking out trash, and spending calm, gentle time with the rabbits. We also have an outdoor bunny run where the bunnies love to play, hop, and exercise when weather and supervision allow.

This volunteer role does require a good amount of physical activity. Volunteers may occasionally need to lift or move items such as bags of pine pellets, boxes of hay, bags of feed, or trash.

One-on-one training is provided in the Bunny Barn.

Volunteers should be responsible, patient, gentle with animals, and willing to follow Bunny Barn care instructions carefully. We will teach you how to hold the bunnies to keep them safe.

Bunny Bunch

On Thursdays at 2:00, women are invited to gather at Storybook Farm for a relaxed time of bunny grooming and conversation. It’s a simple way to take a break from the week, enjoy the farm, and spend time with both the bunnies and other women.

You do not need to know how. We will teach you.
